State Farm Hometown Concert for Gabe Garcia*
Nashville Star finalist Gabe Garcia will be welcomed home by the City of Lytle Wednesday with a full parade down Main Street and special proclamations in front of City Hall. Garcia will pay back his fans with a free concert at Lytle's John C. Lott Municipal Park that evening.
As long as Gabe is not eliminated in next week's show, the State Farm Hometown Concert for Gabe Garcia will be presented at 9 p.m. in the large baseball field on the north end of the park. Visitors and concert goers will enter from Adams Street.
This concert will be a fundraiser to help State Farm raise money to support “High School Dropout Prevention”. The money raised from donation buckets inside the park, plus $10,000 from State Farm, will go directly to the Lytle Independent School District for that purpose.
The festivities will start Wednesday, with all parade floats and entries lining up on Hwy 132 at 3:30 p.m. Entrants will start lining up near the Medina/Atascosa County border. The parade will kick off at 5 p.m. and travel down Hwy 132 into Lytle, along Main Street and past City Hall.
But before they get to the park, fans may want to watch Lytle Mayor Mark Bowan present Garcia with a special proclamation from the City of Lytle as well as other gifts from local organizations at 6 p.m.
An autograph signing is then planned at Juan Garcia Sr. Pavilion in the park at 7 p.m.
The concert itself will start at 9 p.m. and visitors can stop by the food and drink vendors in the park before the music starts.
City planners are asking those participating in the parade to park their cars where the parade stops and walk to the park from there. Others can park at the railroad right of way along Adams Street next to the park, or at any of the Lytle school parking lots (Lytle High School, Lytle Primary School, Lytle Elementary School). Busses will be shuttling those parking in the school lots to the park.

* If Gabe makes it past the next show, NBC will be present to film the concert. If he is eliminated next week, the concert will become a “Welcome Home Gabe Concert,” which will not be sponsored by State Farm and will not be a fundraiser for High School Dropout prevention.
